In the module Diversity of the Region as an Impulse for Tourism Development we will try to find answers to following questions:

  • what are the main directions of tourism development in historical cities?
  • can tradition and modernity complement each other and create a uniform tourist product?
  • can authentic culture/customs and regional customs win against broadly understood commercialization?
  • what can be an impulse for the development of tourism in the region?

To discuss these questions we will visit: the city of Krakow – the historic UNESCO heritage site, “Wieliczka” Salt Mine – UNESCO site, Zakopane and Tatra National Park – the most famous mountain national park in Poland. Each of these issues will be considered based on assigned thematic tasks to be solved by the participants. We encourage creative cooperation and intercultural approach to problem solving.
